Description

Santillana del Mar is one of the most important historical treasures in Spain. It stands out because of its famous Altamira Caves, full of prehistoric paintings (also known as the “Cappella Sistina” of the quaternary art.). Among its monuments there is the “Santa Juliana” Collegiate Church (“la Colegiata”) and two of the oldest civil buildings: the towers of Merino and Don Borja. There are also interesting workshops in its medieval paved streets. It is typical to have meal “bizcochos” with milk. It is remarkable its surrounding nature and its near coast, excellent to fish.
