20. Claustro de la Colegiata

The cloister is square in shape and communicates with the nave of the Gospel through a Romanesque portal. It was annexed at the end of the XXII century, once the temple was finished. The absence of the other monastic dependencies is noticed: refectory, kitchens, dormitory, warehouses ...

The chapter house is next to the atrium. This is because the new order of canons does not require a community life in closure, so they can reside outside the religious group and do not specify the rest of the stays.

Its importance lies in the iconography of its capitals, which constitute a synthesis of the main decorative, figurative, geometric and vegetal motifs of Romanesque throughout its historical and thematic evolution.
